The classic trick-taking game for four players in pairs. Play your cards with your partner, trump your opponents, and win more tricks than they do.
The goal — your pair wins more tricks than the opposing pair. Just 4 steps per deal.
Four players sit crosswise in pairs: partners face each other. A 52-card deck is dealt 13 to each.
The suit of the last card dealt becomes the trump for the whole deal — its cards beat any other suit.
Play goes around the table, and you must follow suit. No card of that suit? Trump it or discard. The highest card takes the trick.
Tricks above six are counted: each extra trick is a point for your pair. The first to reach the agreed threshold wins.
Whist is the ancestor of bridge and preference — a strict, intellectual game where success rests on memory, counting the cards already played, and harmony with your partner. There's no bidding and no bluffing here; everything comes down to the pure play of tricks. On muta.pro the deal, the trumps, and the scoring all run automatically — gather four players with a room code and play in pairs right in the browser, no install needed.
