How to play

The goal is to capture or trap all of your opponent's pieces. Just 4 steps to your first game.

01

8×8 board

Each player has 12 pieces set up on the dark squares of the board. White moves first, then players take turns.

02

Moves

Pieces move diagonally forward to an adjacent empty square. You can move only one piece per turn.

03

Capturing

By jumping over an opponent's piece to the empty square beyond it, you capture it. Capturing is mandatory, and a single move can take several pieces in a row.

04

King

A piece that reaches the last row becomes a king and can move any number of squares diagonally. The winner is whoever captures or traps all of the opponent's pieces.

About the game

Checkers is a classic logic game for two with simple rules and deep tactics. What matters here is not just capturing your opponent's pieces, but also planning exchanges ahead: sometimes it pays to give up one piece in order to take two. Mandatory capturing turns the game into a fight for the initiative, and crowning a king often decides the outcome of the game. On muta.pro you can play Checkers in your browser with no installation, invite an opponent into a room and play a game from the first move to victory.
