How to play

You can learn the rules in a couple of minutes. Just 4 steps — and you're ready for your first game.

01

Deal

Each player takes seven tiles; the rest go into the boneyard to draw from during play.

02

First move

The player with the highest double opens the game; that tile is placed in the center of the table.

03

Add a tile

Lay a tile onto the end of the chain so that the pip counts match at the join.

04

Draw and finish

No matching tile? Draw from the boneyard or pass. Whoever lays down all their tiles first wins.

About the game

Dominoes is the game everyone knows, played with tiles that each have two halves marked with anywhere from zero to six pips. Players take turns adding their tiles to the open ends of the chain, matching by pip count. If you have no matching tile, you draw from the boneyard or pass your turn. A round ends when someone lays down all their tiles or the game is "blocked"; then you count the pips left on the remaining tiles.
