Four players sit in cross pairs: partners play together against the other pair. The deck has 36 cards.
A trump suit is set. Trumps beat any cards of other suits and decide contested tricks.
One card is led; you must follow suit. The highest card or highest trump takes the trick.
Points are counted for the cards in tricks. The losing pair gets a "letter"; whoever spells out "kozel" loses.
