30 seconds per round
Blitz is classic with a thirty-second timer on every round. That is enough for one look around and one decision: if you do not drop a pin before zero, the round closes with no points.
Thirty seconds change not the pace but the whole approach. In classic you gather evidence; in blitz you make a diagnosis from first impressions and refine it only if time is left. A five-round game fits into three minutes.
The first five seconds are for traffic side and alphabet. That alone discards most of the planet.
As soon as you have a country in mind, drop the pin. It always beats zero, and you can move it until the clock runs out.
Spend what is left on signs and road markers, but do not wander far down the street: walking back eats the timer.
Do not walk down the street in blitz — it eats the whole clock. The fastest read is traffic side plus alphabet: together they give you the continent, and a plausible country inside it is already worth a couple of thousand points.
Five confident answers at twenty-five hundred beat two perfect ones and three zeroes. Consistency matters more than precision here.
Do not zoom in without reason: returning to the wide view costs seconds, and the wide view carries more cues than one close-up sign.

A direct hit is worth 5000 points per round, and the score falls off exponentially with distance. A five-round game is worth up to 25,000. Distances are measured on the server against its own copy of the locations, so a result cannot be forged from the browser.
